Practice makes perfect
This point does not apply to young children enrolled in musical awakening workshops.

The student undertakes, by his registration, to work daily at home, on ad hoc equipment that he will obtain upon registration, following the instructions given by the teacher each week via the training sheet. For the youngest students, in order to allow the teachers to ensure the musical development of each one, the parents will inform the MSC, without delay, in the event of lack of rigor in the practice at home.
Mutual respect
Inscriptions
Being registered at the MSC gives you the right to attend to one-hour classes, with the teacher and schedule written on the inscription form.
You sign-up for a whole year, or until the end of the year if it has already started before signing-up.
The MSC is a place where music is to be shared in good understanding and respect of everyone.
The student undertakes to comply with these principles.
Of course, no insulting or mocking remarks will be tolerated.
Although the relaxed atmosphere, the courses are didactic activities, before being recreational activities: the student will make sure to adopt a "working" attitude for the duration of his lesson.
In addition, the student is obviously asked not to attend class if he is under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances.
Lessons
Each class at the MSC is a group class of max. 4 student (8 in the Musical Introduction class), for one hour a week. The lesson will whether take place at Rue Edith Cavell 183 or 175, according to your instrument/teacher.
Testing and withdrawal
Don’t worry! There are no exams nor any evaluation formalities at the MSC. ‘Testing’ refers to your first lesson, which is a test-class. The MSC engages itself to refund the integrality of the advance payment provided that the student estimates the teaching method or internal rules do not fit him or her.
Respecting the equipment and premises
In order to ensure the longevity of the equipment and the cleanliness of the premises, no food or drink may be consumed on the premises.
With the exception of water, according to the conditions set by the teacher.
Payment
Payment deadlines must be respected, as indicated on the registration form.
In the event of late payment, the MSC reserves the right to suspend lessons until the student has paid all the sums due.
Exceptional circumstances
Absence and recovery
In the case of a programmed absence, the student will notify the MSC, minimum 3 days in advance, with a simple text message sent to +32 475 42 42 95.
The MSC engages itself to offer up to 4 recuperation classes throughout the year, given that the previous prevention criteria have been respected.
Exception: given the restricted timetable for this lesson, no recovery course will be offered for ‘Musical Introduction’.
The MSC does not plan any refund due to an absence.
Responsibilities and tutors
In case of impossibility to give the lessons in the premises of the MSC for reasons beyond its control, the MSC can decide to temporarily move the place of the course within a radius of 3km maximum or to replace the course by individual sessions of 15 minutes in videoconference. In the latter case, the musical awakening workshops will be presented online, via the website "https://www.musicshopcavell.be" rather than by videoconference.
Cancellations
If the student wishes to terminate their registration with the MSC, they can do so at the end of January provided they notify it by e-mail to the address "inscriptions@musicshopcavell.be" before January 31 (from current year). In this case only, the pupil will be exempted from paying the second part of his annual contribution.

The MSC reserves the exclusive right to cancel the registration of the student, as well as the related advantages, in the event of non-compliance with these conditions.
The MSC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the children out of their scheduled lessons or if the student is absent. The child’s attendant (if any) undertakes to be punctual. There is no ‘waiting room’ for attendants, actually, they are not allowed to stay during classes in order to make sure that the child is not distracted. Thank you for understanding.
